These terms

These terms apply when you use the Trace apps for iPhone and Android or the website traceclips.com. Trace is operated by Polina Tiukavkina (“Trace”, “we”, “us”). By using Trace you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Trace.

How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

What Trace does

Trace tells you which film or TV show a video clip comes from, shows where you may be able to watch it, keeps your history in a library, and makes you a Wrap of what you found. Trace is free. How Trace identifies a clip, and the systems and data behind it, are ours; nothing here grants you any right in them. We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop offering Trace, at any time.

Using Trace fairly

You agree not to:

use Trace to break the law or anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy;
upload or share material you don't have the right to share, or that is illegal, sexual content involving minors, or intended to harass anyone;
scrape, copy or resell Trace's results or data, or use automated tools to send requests to Trace, except through features we offer for that;
use Trace, or anything you get from it, to build or train a competing product or dataset;
try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the security or limits of Trace;
pretend to be someone else, or create accounts in someone else's name.

We may suspend or close access to Trace for anyone who breaks these rules.

Results can be wrong

Trace matches clips automatically. It can get a title, episode or moment wrong, or find nothing. Where-to-watch information comes from other providers and can be out of date or differ in your country. Please check before you rely on a result, and use “Wrong movie?” to tell us when we miss.

Other people's content and links

Films, shows, posters, clips and trademarks shown in Trace belong to their owners. Clips in your Wrap play from TikTok or Instagram and remain the creators' content. Links to streaming services, app stores and social platforms take you to services we don't control, under their own terms.

If you believe content in Trace infringes your rights, email tracecorporations@gmail.com with the link and we'll look at it promptly. Clips in Wraps are removed within 48 hours of a valid request.

What you send us

You keep any rights you have in clips, links and feedback you send. You allow us to process them to run and improve Trace, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

Accounts

You don't need an account to use Trace. If you create one, keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You must be at least 13, or the minimum age to use online services without a parent's consent where you live. You can delete your account at any time in the app (account → Delete Account).

No warranty, and limits on liability

Trace is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that Trace will always be available, error-free or accurate.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Trace, and our total liability to you is limited to 50 euros. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app when a change is significant. If you keep using Trace after a change, the new terms apply.
